About Us
The Children's Place Association has a staff of nearly 100 individuals and operates programs with an annual budget of $5.6 million, with funding from both governmental and private sources.
Our Mission
The mission of The Children's Place Association is to improve the present and secure the future for children, youth and families confronted by HIV/AIDS or other life-changing health conditions.
Who We Serve
We serve the vulnerable children and their families in Chicagoland that are infected with or affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. In addition, our Residential Center cares for children affected by other life-changing health conditions including among others cerebral palsy, pediatric cancer and severe juvenile diabetes.
Children's Place International provides for children and families that are affected by HIV/AIDS in Haiti and Guyana.
Why We Serve
Currently more than 2 million children live with HIV. In the last year 900 children died each day due to the effects of the disease. In addition, there are many more children that are affected, meaning one or both of their parents are HIV positive. There is no Chicago HIV/AIDS crisis. There is no Illinois HIV/AIDS crisis. There is no Haiti HIV/AIDS crisis. There is only one global crisis and The Children's Place Association exists to be a beacon of hope for those affected by the epidemic.
