Arthur E. Jones Early Childhood Care and Learning Facility

“I like my teacher.”
- Child in the Early Learning Center
The Arthur E. Jones Early Childhood Care and Learning Facility (ELC) provides specialized daycare services for children ages six months to five years that are affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. For many this is their only opportunity for an early childhood education.
The specialized curriculum is customized to meet the needs of each individual child and staff members are trained to handle the many emotional, behavioral and social issues surrounding HIV/AIDS. A registered nurse is always available to assist with medical needs, and door-to-door transportation is offered to the families so that children can attend the program regardless of their parents’ health or community of residence.
