Residential Center

“The Residential Center and other programs at The Children's Place Association have been instrumental in my son’s development into a happy, healthy child.” - Adoptive Parent

The Residential Center is the only facility in the Chicago area providing short-term housing, medical care, and other therapeutic services for HIV/AIDS-affected children, healthy children of infected parents, and children with unique life-changing health conditions.

The 10-bed facility provides 24-hour care by specially trained registered nurses, child care workers and dedicated volunteers. It is more than just a place to stay, it is somewhere children can laugh, learn, dance, nap, eat and play. We provide a structured learning environment that includes school activities, community outings, and art projects. We also provide Family Services to support and engage the families of children at the Residential Center.

Children stay at the Residential Center until they can return to their birth parents or a suitable foster or adoptive home is found.
