During this holiday time of giving and gifting, we’d like to share a story about the kind of “gift” Children’s Place Association provides.
We met Danilo when he was just 7 months old. Danilo was born two months premature and spent much of his first year in neonatal intensive care. He came to us shortly after his release from the hospital and remained in our care until this summer when he danced out of our head start program and into kindergarten – joyful and ready to conquer the path ahead.
Danilo struggled with chronic health issues and serious breathing problems for most of his childhood. To see Danilo share his authentic spark and pure delight as he celebrated his triumphant rite of passage as a thriving “kindergartener to be” epitomizes the positive impact made possible when caring adults like you support the critical services that children like Danilo need to thrive. Danilo can’t say thank you, but we can!
This past month, we launched our $25,000 year-end campaign – Building Pathways Forward – to raise urgently needed funds that will allow us to meet the dramatic rise in our children and families’ need for our care services and programs by December 31.
As we quickly approach the holiday season, our families are experiencing so many hardships with increased heating, food, housing, and living costs.
Thanks to the support of so many generous donors like you, and the wonderful efforts of our Junior Board and Board of Directors, we have already raised nearly $12,000, but we still need your help.
Each day, we serve so many other children like Danilo whose start in life has been beset by challenges and adversity. This holiday, help create a brighter future full of promise and hope for a child. Join us today and become a Child Champion by donating and sharing our work with others.
