As we look back at the incredible impact we were able to create together in 2022, we want to take this opportunity to say thank you!

- Lisa and Thomas successfully adopted Bianca – their second adoption through Children’s Place – this year. Born at 36 weeks, Bianca experienced severe withdrawal symptoms from both cocaine and methadone, as well as numerous other medical issues and developmental delays, resulting in a 6-week hospital stay. Shortly after, she was placed in our residential program (initially in isolation due to a severe virus) where she remained with us until we placed her with her foster parents, Lisa and Thomas, who eventually became her proud adoptive parents.
- Danilo – born prematurely with several serious health conditions – was able to celebrate his triumphant rite of passage from preschool to kindergarten this year after having been with us since infancy.
- Siblings Joseph (8) and Valerie (12) – long-time kids in our foster care program – celebrated finally having a “forever home” after being adopted by their maternal aunt, Rosa Vasquez, at the City’s first live adoption event in over two years!
- Maya – a single mother, suffering from severe psychological and emotional setbacks whose two children (6 and 1) were removed from her custody – was able to receive the personalized care and support services she desperately needed to get healthy, learn practical life and parenting skills, work on her G.E.D., be able to visit her children regularly and stay on a positive path of wellbeing so she can be reunited with her kids at home.
These are only a few examples of the inspiring stories of surviving and thriving made possible by the generous support and commitment of donors, volunteers, and partners like you.
