About Children’s Place Association
We champion equity and access for every child and family, no matter their circumstances or where they call home.
Since 1991, Children’s Place Association has worked alongside families, local government agencies, community groups, and businesses to create brighter futures for Chicago’s children. Our comprehensive services empower families to build stronger foundations and open doors to a more hopeful tomorrow by addressing challenges like health disparities, poverty, neighborhood violence, and racial injustice.
Who Are Chicago’s Children in Need of Support?
CHICAGO-BASED
Communities facing unemployment, housing instability, and food insecurity are working towards a brighter future.
POVERTY
Many families subsist on annual incomes of $20,000 or less.
HEALTH CHALLENGES
Many families face challenges accessing the support they need to manage illnesses, yet they strive for better care and health outcomes.
KIDS AND FAMILIES
Both kids and families face challenges that can shape a child’s future, yet with the proper support, they can overcome these obstacles and thrive.
We Support Chicago’s Children in Need
Many families we support show remarkable resilience and strength while earning annual incomes of $20,000 or less. Although they live in communities impacted by crime, unemployment, and racial inequity, as well as facing housing instability and food insecurity, they strive for a better future. With the right resources, their lives can be filled with more significant opportunities for stability and growth, moving beyond the daily focus on survival to thriving.
60% of Chicago children live in neighborhoods with high rates of gun violence.
Our Challenge
Opportunities for All Children
Children’s Place Association works in tandem with families to offer essential support to children and their families in four vital areas: health, education, family support, and financial stability.
