The increased social isolation and stress caused by the pandemic have taken a toll on our youth. Now, more than ever, they need connection and engagement with peers and trustworthy adults who share their interests and passions and teach them important pro-social skills.
Above all, our youth need a structured, safe space during the all-important after school hours when they are most vulnerable to violence in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood.
Our new Child Thrive Afterschool Program provides a safe and trusted haven for youth to gather until they reunite with their families. During this time, they:
- Connect with mentors
- Learn relationship building, conflict resolution, and emotion management
- Engage in fun, enriching activities
- Receive homework help
- Enjoy a healthy afterschool snack and more!
Today, we ask for your help to ensure we may continue serving our clients while keeping Children’s Place Association financially stable.
Help us impact and create lasting change by reaching our kids today when they are most vulnerable and lifting them up. Every dollar will be doubled when you donate here.
